our history

MCC was started in the spring of 1993 when a group of Christians held their first of many Wednesday night meetings at Luby's Cafeteria in the Arrowhead Mall in Muskogee. Soon after, the Muskogee Civic Center became the meeting place on Sunday mornings with about 100 in attendance. They knew that reaching young people for Jesus was the way to continue to grow the church and so the first minister that was hired was a youth minister.  In the fall of 1994, it was decided that a permanent facility should be built in the growing area of North York St. and more than 200K was raised through a special contribution. During construction, services were held in a rented church facility until 1996, when the move was made to our current location. The Spirit of God continued to move through the members with two additional building phases were added by the end of 2003. From that time until now, we have been a refuge for the hurting and a training ground for discipleship.

God continues to change lives of the people that call MCC home. We are purposeful about "Loving God and Loving Others" and are committed to reaching out to those who do not know Christ, have been disconnected from a church family, and spreading the good news of Jesus to our community and the world. It is with great excitement and anticipation that we look toward the future, as God continues to work in and through us as believers.
